ABOUT VIRAL HEPATITIS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (VIHAN)

BACKGROUND

Viral hepatitis Association of Nigeria (VIHAN) is a preventive and early detective consultancy medical association charged with the responsibility of advocacy and creation of awareness on viral and non-viral Hepatitis. Viral Hepatitis Association of Nigeria conduct research worldwide to improve POLICIES, PROGRAMS, and PRODUCTS in the area of viral and non-viral Hepatitis. With over 10 years of operational experience, we have been able to create awareness against viral hepatitis to more than three million Nigerians. As at today, we are number one ranking as providers of services concerning viral hepatitis and this we have been able to achieve with our professionals and affiliations we have made over the time.
The Association was inaugurated in jos plateau state on October 31st 2003. As an organization founded in public interest, it was formally incorporated as an organization on the 17th September, 2009 with the corporate Affairs Commission, C.A.C with registration number CAC/IT/NO.34575.

WHO WE ARE

We VIRAL HEPATITIS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (VIHAN), a member of the WORLD HEPATITIS ALLIANCE in UK who are working alongside the world health organization (WHO) as a partner in raising awareness about viral hepatitis, which affects 1 in 12 people worldwide. Our responsibility includes Advocacy and creation of Awareness on viral and non-viral Hepatitis among other things.we also conduct researches worldwide to improve policies, programs and products in this area.

MISSION

We are on the mission to ensure a Hepatitis free nation/Nigeria through the provision of value added strategies for prevention of viral hepatitis infection of those infected and affected. These we do through research, advocacy, encourage governmental policies, seminars, and provision of products for all at risk of the disease and provision of strategic care for those infected.
